Chinese Almond Cookies

These cookies are extremely simple to make and incredibly delicious. Careful, because these are very addictive and you might find yourself making them more often than you should!


Preparation time – 30 minutes

Cook time – 20 minutes


Preheat oven to 330 degrees F


Sift sugar, flour, baking soda with salt. Cut in the lard until mixture looks like a cornmeal. Take an egg with almond extract and add it to the mixture, then mix everything well.


Take dough and roll it in to 1-inch ball. When you done rolling, set each of them 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Decorate your dough by adding one almond on top of the cookie. Press the almond to slightly flatten the cookie.


Bake cookies in the preheated oven until you start seeing edges going golden brown. 18-20 minutes.




• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

• 46 almonds

• 1 egg

• 1 cup lard

• 2 1/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour

• 1 cup white sugar

• 3 teaspoon almond extract

• 1/2 teaspoon salt
